For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. 1 Cor 17
Today I pray that you will help me to be a rock of faith for my family. Help me to lead them and guide them and to share with them your love. Give me a heart like yours and help me to strengthen my marriage in both faith and love. I know that I cannot lead my family by faith if I am not strong in faith myself. Hold me close and fill my heart with your love so I can pour out your love into the hearts of my family. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
Next to our relationship with the Lord, our relationship with our spouse is of utmost importance. It sets the stage for our future family. As husband and wife we are called to love each other just as God loves us. We are called to love unconditionally and to love without limitation.
Loving someone who does not share your love of the Lord can be difficult and at times may seem impossible. But remember nothing is impossible with God. Faith can truly move mountains and overcome the largest of obstacles.
Does your spouse share your faith? If not, I know how difficult it can be. It breaks my heart to know that my husband does not know and love the Lord like I do. Each night I pray that his eyes will be opened and his heart will be softened to the Lord, but more importantly I pray for my heart and eyes to be opened to ways that I can love and serve both the Lord and my family.
Q: How can you pray for your spouse today?
