I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message. I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
Help me to embrace the unity you desire for me to have with your own heart and with your children. I want to know the union of purpose, and love that is my birthright because of Jesus.
God has not merely saved our lives from the payment of sin that we owed, after dealing with our sin problem he went on to offer us a profound gift. The gift of unity. We aren’t left hanging back subservient to a benevolent master, we’re invited in, right into the unified relationship the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit have with each other. And if that wasn’t gift enough he has also given us a family of brothers and sisters! What a generous God to take our orphaned hearts, save them, heal them, and make them fit to be a part of his family!
Question: Do you ever feel lonely? What steps can you take to fully embrace your position in Christ and live fully a part of the family he has purchase for you?
