2 Corinthians 9:7
We know that the wise men brought expensive, valuable gifts to Jesus. Gold, frankincense and myrrh. But they also gave Jesus other things that were valuable. They gave him their time and energy. They came from far away, traveling a long to worship God. In 2 Corinthians it says we should give what we have purposed in our hearts to give. What are you able to give to Jesus? Remember when we give to others, we are giving to him.
1. What gifts are you able to give to Jesus?
2. Have you ever given a gift or served someone? How did it make you feel?
3. What have you learned that is new about the wise men this Christmas season?
Share with your children what and why you give. Explain that God asks each of us to give what he has given us. We don’t have to out give each other and it isn’t so much what we give but the heart behind what we give.
Dear Lord, I want to worship you by being willing to give what you have given me. My time, my energy and other gifts. Please help me to be a joyful giver that shows your love to others by what I give. Help my gifts to be an act of worship to you. Amen.
