Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. – Jam 1:22 NIV
Lord I pray my kids would not just listen to the word, but do what it says! James 1:22
My oldest daughter who is almost seven has taken to saying sorry quickly after she is reprimanded for choosing to do something unkind or selfish. We have had the discussion lately that she isn’t sorry for her action, she is sorry for my reaction. That her disobedience and selfishness got her in trouble. My deepest desire for my girls is that they will desire to obey not out of need to appease me but to please and love God. Today as you pray for your kids will you pray with me that they will not simply know what is right, but do what is right and out of pure motives.
Q: In what ways can you train your children to do what God calls us to do out of a pure heart? How does your example lead them to do this?
