Praying for your Husband through 1st Timothy Day 1

Praying for your Husband through 1st Timothy Day 1

Today’s Scripture

“Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope, To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord. As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work–which is by faith.” 1Ti 1:1-4 NIV

Today’s Prayer:

I pray my husband will be a  leader who doesn’t tolerate false doctrines and myths, but promotes God’s work by faith. 1 Tim 1:3-4

Today’s Encouragement

The other day I was in a department store buying clothes for my kids. When I went to pay the cashier my husbands name came up in their computer. The cashier immediately exclaimed, “Is Richard your husband?” and he went on to tell me emphatically what a great youth leader my husband is. I was blessed beyond measure to hear this great report. I don’t think anything is more attractive to me than seeing my husband take that leadership role and stand strong in the truth. I think as wives we have no idea how important our role is in the spiritual strength of our husband. We can encourage, or we can berate. We can fill him with confidence, or we can weaken his faith. Let’s choose today to be everything he needs to be the leader God created him to be.

Q: What would you like to see your husband take a leadership role in? How can you encourage him today?
