I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people– for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. – 1Ti 2:1-2
Lord stir my husbands heart to pray, intercede, and give thanks for those in leadership, government and authority over us, so that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 1Tim 2:1-2
I think that there is a battle that goes on inside of us as women when it comes to the leadership and authority of our husbands. On the one hand, we desperately desire to see our husband taking the lead to pray and lead our homes and yet in the same breath we fight to manipulate and control. Today as you pray for your husbands heart to lead in prayer, pray for your heart to step back so that he feels empowered to do so. It’s not that as women we aren’t capable as leading, we are. But when we take a passenger seat our husbands are empowered to be the men they were created to be.
Q: In what ways is God asking you to encourage your husband as the spiritual leader in your home? A great first step is to pray 1 Timothy 2:1-2 for him.
