Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well, holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith. 1Ti 1:18-19 NIV
I pray my husband will not grow weary but will be strong and fight the battle well holding on to his faith in good conscience.
My husband works a very hard, labor intensive job. His body is starting to feel the effects of a life of working with his hands. He comes home weary, worn, and sometimes without any more fight in him. But oh how blessed I feel to have a husband who is so committed to our family that he still wakes up each morning and goes back to it. He is a good man.
We can become weary and worn in our spiritual lives as well. Ministry isn’t easy. It’s hard, labor intensive, and requires a lot from us. Today let’s commit to pray that our husbands will not grow weary in it, but that they will be so committed to the family of God that they keep getting up everyday to fight the good fight.
Q: Where does your husband serve in the body of Christ? What are some tangible ways you can encourage your husband to keep fighting the good fight for God today?
