Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. – Jam 1:21
I pray my kids would accept the word planted in them, that they will be saved and that they would turn away from all moral filth. James 1:21
What a world we live in. Everyday I turn on the news, or watch social media in shock as the morals of our society crumble away. What was morally unacceptable a few years ago is now fully embraced. Our society has become just like Israel when it rebelled against the Lord. It says in Judges 21:25 that “Everyone did what was right in their own eyes”. Wouldn’t you agree that our world has become like that?
The bible tells us that we are to impress God’s word onto our children when we sit at home, when we walk along the road, when we lie down and when we get up. In other words, All the time. This takes deliberate action on our part. But oh the joy of seeing them fully able and equipped to stand strong against the powerful forces that will attempt to steal their hearts! That is the reward.
Q: A bible teacher I know speaks scripture over her children every morning before they go to school, reminding them of who they are in Christ. What are some ways you have found to impress the word of the Lord on the hearts of your children?
