Praying for our Husbands

My marriage is incredibly important to me. My love for my husband and our daughter is indefinable. I am truly blessed and incredibly thankful for the abundantly blessed life that God has gifted me with. My husband is a great provider, a loving husband, an adoring father, and a wonderful man. One thing he is not is …

A Christian.

My faith in undoubtedly important to me. It defines the way I live my life and the way I raise my family. Being married to someone who does not share my faith certainly does have its challenges. There are times when I feel lost, confused, and hopless wondering if my husband will ever know the joy that faith in God can bring.

This anxiety, this worry, and this fear has no place in my heart.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 4:6-7

God knows the desires in my heart. He knows my faithfulness, and he knows the depth of love I have for Him and for my family. God also knows the future He has in store for us.

Rather than worry and wonder, I have chosen to pray and I have chosen to love. Together these two forces will certainly yield results in due time.

For now I hold fast to the comfort and promise that I find in scripture.

For the unbelieving husband is sanctified through his wife 1 Corinthian’s 7:14

If you have not yet heard about the Praying for our husbands series that AW is doing I strongly encourage you to check it out. There is certainly no force more powerful than prayer.

If you may be facing challenges in your marriage, know that you are not alone. We are a community of believers here to support one another in the common knowledge that God loves us, hears us, and has great things in store for us. God bless!
